Veterans Care

Serving Our Veterans Behavioral Health Certificate

More and more, the brave soldiers who protect our nation’s freedom are returning home with the visible and invisible wounds of war, which range from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to depression and suicide. Their families may struggle as well. Their children may suffer from anxiety due to fears that their loved one will be hurt or injured during deployment. And others may develop behavioral or physical problems stemming from their parent's long-term absence.

About the Certificate

The Serving Our Veterans Behavioral Health Certificate is a public/private partnership between the National Council for Behavioral Health, the Department of Defense Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) and Relias Learning to ensure that our exceptional veterans and their families receive the high-quality services they deserve. This program specifically trains civilian behavioral health and primary care providers about military orientation and specific issues affecting veterans and their families. It offers 15 self-directed, self-paced online courses that:

  • Provide the latest clinical guidelines from the Department of Defense.
  • Demonstrate applicable knowledge and skills through real-life examples.
  • Emphasize cultural sensitivities to ensure clinical competency.
